Following two flight delays due to the terrible events just occurred in the States, we are finally in Amsterdam! While waiting for our flight to leave Luton airport, Alpha had a good feed [picture]. Alpha was a little worried on the take off [picture], but spent the rest of the flight playing peek-a-boo with a very nice chap sitting behind us. Here's a photo of Alpha and Dada [picture]. The apartment we are staying in is wonderful. It faces onto one of the canals and is a great district. Today we wandered around the city and tomorrow will be visiting some galleries.

As well as using the new (hand) sign for 'tree', Alpha can also sign for food, bottle and duck! Tomorrow we are going to start using more signs, hoping to add five new signs a week. Hopefully this will avoid the frustration of not being able to communicate and everyone will be much happier!

Alpha appears to have developed a new laugh today - pretty hard to describe really, if you imagine saying the Or part of EiOr (like a donkey) while breathing in and giving an insane-looking toothy grin - you'd be getting close. She's doing it more and more as she sees us falling around in fits of laughter. She's also learned to hold her hands in the air and wave her hands around when we say tree. She found the crockery cupboard today - and celebrated by smashing an egg cup.

Alpha went to a fete in Martinstown and while sitting eating her lunch, watched the Charlotte Rose Wurlitzer. She then went to see the old Crown court and cells at Dorchester - where the Tollpuddle Martyrs were tried. And finally at 18:30 when to her first harvest festival at St. Marys in Melbury Bubb - but missed most of it as she was pretty excitable and noisy. She did return for the auction and bought lots of scrummy veg, pies and some stunning bread in the shape of a wheat sheaf.
